Day 1 – Arrival, Heritage & Taste

Arrive into Kenmare, where colourful streets, heritage buildings and a gentle buzz of life immediately set the tone. This is a town that invites you to slow down.

Begin with a guided walk through the town with Kerry Tour Guides, where stories of history, culture and character bring this heritage town to life.

Spend the afternoon indulging in the flavours of the region with Kenmare Foodies, meeting local producers and discovering the exceptional quality of food that defines Kenmare as one of Ireland’s leading culinary destinations.

Later, wander through independent boutiques and artisan stores before visiting Tom Crean Brewery, where the spirit of exploration is reflected in every locally crafted brew.

As evening falls, Kenmare reveals its true magic, exceptional dining, warm hospitality and traditional music that drifts softly into the night.

Day 2 – The Atlantic Experience: Land, Sea & Soul

Begin your day on the water with Emerald Outdoors, gliding across the calm of Kenmare Bay as mountains rise around you and the Atlantic stretches beyond.

From here, journey west towards the Beara Peninsula, one of Ireland’s most unspoilt and soul stirring landscapes.

Pause in Sneem for a deeply restorative experience at Sneem Seaweed Baths, a uniquely Irish tradition known for its soothing and revitalising properties.

Continue across the breathtaking Healy Pass, where the road winds dramatically through the mountains, revealing views that feel almost untouched by time.

Along the coast, stop for a simple but unforgettable moment, fresh mussels overlooking the Atlantic, where land, sea and flavour come together effortlessly.

Before returning to Kenmare, embrace the contrast of heat and sea air with a session at Sunset Sauna Kerry, where the wild Atlantic meets deep stillness.  Return to Kenmare for another evening of outstanding food, lively atmosphere and music.

Day 3 – Kerry Icons & Timeless Landscapes

Today, explore one of the world’s most celebrated touring routes, the Ring of Kerry.

Drive through ever-changing landscapes, from rugged coastline to quiet villages and panoramic mountain views. Stop at iconic viewpoints, wander along hidden beaches and take in the scale and beauty of the south-west.

For a softer pace, explore nearby Killarney National Park, with its ancient woodlands, lakes and timeless atmosphere.

On your return to Kenmare, take a final detour to Derreen Garden, where subtropical planting meets Atlantic light in one of Ireland’s most enchanting gardens.

Return to Kenmare for a final stroll, a final meal and the quiet realisation that this is not a place you simply visit, it is a place you return to.

Kenmare is not simply a stop on the Wild Atlantic Way.  It is the gateway to where the journey begins, and where it all comes together.

Alternative Experience: The Kenmare Immersion

Slow down. Go deeper. Experience Kenmare differently.

For those who wish to go beyond the journey and truly connect with place, Kenmare offers something rare, immersive experiences that engage the senses, slow the pace and create lasting memories.

A Day of Craft, Nature & Stillness

Begin your morning in Bonane with a visit to Lorge Chocolatier, where chocolate becomes an art form.

Here, you are invited behind the scenes to craft your own creations, guided by passion, precision and the finest ingredients. It is a tactile, indulgent experience that reflects Kenmare’s reputation for quality and creativity.

From here, journey into the wild landscape of the Caha Mountains, stopping at Esk Mountain 25 minutes from Kenmare, where the experience deepens.

Walk through forest trails with a local guide, discovering the art of wild foraging, what grows, what heals and what nourishes in this rich and unspoilt landscape.

Your day unfolds into a shared outdoor feast, woodfired pizza crafted from ingredients gathered around you, enjoyed in the open air with sweeping views across mountains and sea.

In the afternoon, continue west along the Beara Peninsula to the peaceful sanctuary of Dzogchen Beara Retreat Centre.

Perched above the Atlantic, this is a place of stillness and reflection.

Take time here to pause, breathe and absorb the vastness of the ocean, whether through quiet walking, meditation or simply sitting with the landscape.

Return to Kenmare in the evening, carrying with you a deeper connection to the land, the food and the spirit of the south-west.
